What is the difference in price between a haircut and a trim?
There is no difference in price because whether you are cutting 4 inches or 2 inches it still takes the same amount of time to cut the style desired.

What is the estimated amount of time required for a chemical service, Cut & Style?
It all depends on the texture and length of the individual’s hair the chemical process and style can take approximately 1 1/2 hours and up.

What is the difference between Partial and full Highlights?
Partial highlights start from the ears and up to the top of the hairline. Full highlights start at the nape of the neck and continue through the entire head.

What is the difference between Semi permanent and Permanent colour?
A semi permanent colour consists of a very low volume of peroxide. Semi permanent colour is gentle on the hair and lasts from 4-6 weeks depending on how often you wash your hair. Where as Permanent colour penetrates into the hair shaft resulting in a long lasting colour.

What is the advantage of me having my hair done professionally versus drug store product?
Store bought colour is harsher on the hair causing more breakage to the hair shaft. Results will differ from the expected out come.  The major benefit of having your colour processed by a professional colour technician will be accuracy and knowledge to advise you in achieving your desired colour.

What is the best way to describe what I am looking for to my Hairstylist?
The best solution to this problem would be to have a consultation prior to your visit and bring some pictures along with you to best describe your style.

My hair is dry/damaged and over processed what can your salon do for me?
We would suggest for you to come in and do a series of customized conditioning treatments followed by home care products for you to continue these results.

Spa FAQ

ow far in advance do I need to book a Spa treatment and is a reservation necessary?
Due to the demand for appointments, we recommend scheduling your spa appointments well in advance for the widest selection of treatments, services and appointment times. If you schedule well in advance you have the ability to guarantee availability of your preferences. A Valid Major Credit Card or Salon Allure Spa Gift Card is required at the time of booking for Spa Packages or Massage Treatments at the time of booking to secure your appointment. Walk-ins are always welcome, based on availability. Please advise us at the time of scheduling of any health conditions, allergies, or injuries which could affect your service.

Is there someone to help me decide which facial treatments are best for me?
Yes. Our concierge can help you choose the proper facial to suit your needs and interests. Please inform her of the problems, issues, or concerns that you may be experiencing with your skin and Please make appointments well in advance of your visit to ensure availability.

This is my first time at a spa. What can I expect?
When you enter the Spa, check-in at the reception desk. Our concierge will have you fill out a brief health history form, in order to allow the therapist to know a little about your medical background. Please note that all information is strictly confidential and will be used solely for the purpose of your treatment. When it's time for your service the concierge will escort you to your treatment area and introduce you to your therapist.

How early should I arrive for my treatment?
We highly recommend arriving fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled appointment in order to fill out the health history form and also enjoy a complementary specialty tea, coffee or water. Tardiness affects you, your therapist, and other clients, so we ask that you please be considerate and be punctual for your scheduled time. Please arrive on time to ensure that you receive your full treatment.

Are their any health conditions that I need to disclose before my appointment?
We also need to be informed of any skin sensitivities or infections prior to treatment. Individuals with diseases or infections that are communicable through casual contact, such as coughs and open sores, may be denied treatment. We request that you disclose any medical condition and/or prescription medications you are taking as some services may be contra-indicated.

Should I visit the spa if I'm pregnant?
Yes, by all means. Our treatment specialists are fully trained to provide special treatments and services that are safe during pregnancy. Please let our associate know at the time of booking. Our concierge will be happy to advise guests who are pregnant or who have health conditions on appropriate services.

Should I bring anything with me?
If you are having a pedicure, we do provide you with free disposable slippers during the treatment. We do suggest that you bring open-toe sandals to wear home with you, that you can easily slip your feet into. Also please wear loose fitting pants that you are able to roll up to the knee.

What do I wear for my spa treatments? What should I expect during my massage? Will I be covered?
If you are having any type of body treatment, you will be modestly draped with towels and sheets throughout your massage. However, it is your choice whether you disrobe completely or leave your undergarments on whatever makes you feel more comfortable. We want you to relax. 

How long does my hair need to be for waxing to be most effective?
In order for waxing to be most effective hair length should be 1/8 to 1/4 inches long depending on the thickness of the hair.

How often do I need to wax?
When waxing for the first time you must have at least ¼ inch of hair growth. DO NOT SHAVE for two weeks prior to your waxing appointment. While everyone is different generally every 4 to 6 weeks is the average time.

How do I purchase a gift card for  your Salon or Spa?
You can either come into the Salon & Spa, or order a Gift Card by phone or by e-mail. For phone orders, you need to provide us with a credit card number, type and expiry date. Shipping of gift cards will be an additional charge. 

Where can I park?
There are parking meters available along Bloor Street.

What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly ask that you give us a minimum of 24 hours cancellation notice for a single service and 48 hours for multiple services or packages. While we make every effort to accommodate our guests we regret that cancellations for Spa Packages or Massage Treatments later than 24 hours or a failure to show will result in full charges to your credit card.

Are Gratuities Included In The Price?
Gratuities are not included in the price of our services or packages. Although gratuities are customary, it is at your discretion. Please ask the concierge for an envelope while checking out.
